The Role: Energy Engineer 


Responsibilities 

  • Design, engineer, and optimise Solar PV systems in line with site constraints, client objectives, and applicable standards. 

  • Lead technical input for project feasibility, system sizing, layout development, and yield/performance assumptions. 

  • Prepare and review technical documentation. 

  • Own defined project workstreams and support PMs with technical risk management, scheduling input, and design reviews. 

  • Support procurement with technical specs and BoMs for panels, inverters, cabling, mounting systems, and protection equipment. 

  • Conduct site assessments / surveys, verifying installation requirements. 

  • Provide engineering support during installation, commissioning, and close-out to ensure quality and compliance. 

  • Liaise directly with customers and internal stakeholders to resolve technical queries and maintain clear communication through delivery. 

Requirements 

  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role or related engineering field. 

  • Bachelors Degree (Level 8) in Engineering, ideally in Electrical Engineering or a related field i.e. Energy Engineering. 

  • Strong project management abilities. 

  • Highly motivated with strong interpersonal skills for positive engagement with colleagues and stakeholders. 

  • Highly organised, analytical, and comfortable managing multiple live tasks.  

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). 

  • Full clean driving licence preferred (site visits form part of the role).
